Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She's an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation often. She was hired by ESPN in the year of 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since she was nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. The CBS station in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become a sports reporter. She moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she worked as a reporter on five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast in English and also a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. She would also fill in on occasion as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate and she assumed additional responsibility. She also did segments on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. It was the same role for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. Her older sister is also hers. Her family relocated from Mexico to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Her parents divorced soon after and in 1995 her mother got married to one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. Her residence was at Canton Ohio with her older sister during the summer in which she was provided with an opportunity to work. As a senior at high school, but having a clear vision of what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta went to her local University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her preferences. The campus was a dream for her. The university also provided her with the degree she wanted. Following her graduation from high school, she decided to go to the university to pursue a degree in Media Studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor at WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. He encouraged her to have confidence and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply influenced her. She was determined to meet his standards and never let him down.
